Face ID and keeping your account secure
Unlocking with a face or a fingerprint, and what protects the session underneath.
Turning on Face ID
In your account settings in the app. Villagely insists on a successful scan before it will enable it, so you cannot switch it on and then find yourself locked out of your own rent.
It unlocks the app; it is not your password. Your account is still protected by the password you set, and Face ID data never leaves the phone — Villagely is told whether the scan succeeded, nothing more.
Your session
Signing in creates a session that lives in the phone's keychain rather than in a file the app can read casually. Signing out removes it. Being offline does not sign you out — only an actual rejection from the server does.
Losing your phone
Change your password from a browser. That is what invalidates the session everywhere.
