Connecting payments

How money actually reaches your bank account, and what Villagely never touches.

Villagely does not hold your money. Payments run through Stripe, which is the processor, and settle to your own bank account. Villagely records what happened; Stripe moves the funds.

  1. 1
    Open Settings and connect Stripe

You will be taken to Stripe to confirm your business details and bank account. This is their process, not ours, and they ask what they are legally required to ask.

  2. 2
    Choose what you accept

Bank transfer, card, or both. Bank transfer costs a fraction of card, which is why most portfolios steer residents towards it.

  3. 3
    Decide who pays the fee

You can absorb processing fees or pass them to the resident as a separate line, so the rent figure stays the rent figure.

What Villagely never sees

Card numbers and bank details. Those go directly to Stripe from the resident's browser or phone. Villagely stores a reference, not a card.
