Landlord or association — which are you?

The one setup question that changes the whole product, and how to tell which side you are on.

Villagely is two products sharing a foundation. Which you see is decided by the answer you give at signup, and it is not a cosmetic difference — whole sections of the software appear or do not exist for you.

You are a landlord if

  • You own or manage rental property and collect rent.
  • You sign leases with tenants.
  • You advertise vacancies and take applications.
  • You might manage on behalf of owners and pay them out.

You are an association if

  • You represent a homeowners association, condominium or similar body.
  • You collect dues from members rather than rent from tenants.
  • You hold votes and board meetings.
  • You record violations and issue fines.

What you will not see

A landlord never sees violations, board votes or amenity reservations. An association never sees rent, leases, listings or owner statements. These are absent rather than locked — you are not paying to leave somebody else's module switched off.

Still stuck?

Rent, leasing, maintenance, the association and the books — one system, set up in an afternoon.
