What to set up first
The shortest path from an empty account to rent arriving.
You do not need to configure everything before the product is useful. This is the order that gets you to something working fastest, and everything else can wait until you need it.
- 1Add a property and at least one unit
Nothing else attaches to anything until a unit exists.
- 2Set your rent rules
Grace period, late fee and which payment methods you accept. Five minutes, and it stops you having to remember the policy later.
- 3Connect payments
This is what turns a ledger into money arriving. See “Connecting payments”.
- 4Add a resident and a lease
The lease sets the rent and the dates, and starts the ledger.
- 5Invite the resident
They set their own password and can pay from that moment.
What can wait
Documents, listings, accounting, vendors, your team, the community site. None of it blocks collecting rent, and all of it is easier to set up once there is real data to hang it on.
