Dues post to the same ledger as everything else, on purpose.
For associationsSet a recurring schedule and dues post into the ordinary ledger — the same one fines and any other charge use. Each member has one balance rather than a dues balance and a separate everything-else balance that have to be reconciled against each other.
A special assessment posts the same way, as a charge with its own description.
