A one-off charge across the membership, on the same ledger as dues.
For associationsA special assessment posts as a charge to each member's ordinary ledger, with its own description. It is not a separate billing system — one balance per member, whatever it is made of.
Give it a description members will recognise a year later. “Special assessment — roof replacement 2027” is a description. “SA-2” is the start of a phone call.
