Recording a payment you took another way
Cheques, cash and bank transfers that never touched Villagely.
For landlordsNot every payment arrives through the platform, and the ledger is worthless if it only knows about the ones that did.
Add a payment entry against the resident with the amount, the date it was received and how. It posts to the ledger exactly like an online payment does, reduces the balance the same way, and posts the same journal entry to the books.
What you lose
Automatic reconciliation. A payment Villagely processed is matched to a Stripe payout; one you typed in is matched to your bank statement by you. The record is the same; the checking is manual.
